Their front page is unambiguous, and there is no reason to characterise it any further than they do. It leads with “Win real money playing the games you know: Survivor, Daily Fantasy Contests, Pick’Em, Confidence, and more.” It adds “Play against your friends, not the house…”
On what happens at the end of a contest: “Winners get paid automatically when contests end—funds are immediately available for withdrawal.” And on running one: “Whether you’re playing with friends or you’re a Commissioner, we make running a real-money contest hassle-free.”
That is a real product doing a real job, and for a group that wants a pot with actual money in it, handled by somebody else, it is the right shape. This page is for the other group — the one whose pool was always a bragging-rights pool, and who would rather it stayed one.

The difference
Pooldit never takes, holds, or moves real money. There is no wallet, no deposit, no withdrawal and no payout, because there is nothing on this site to pay out. What a pool plays for is dits, an in-app currency that keeps score — and if your group settles something between yourselves at the end of the season, that happens between yourselves, exactly as it did before any website was involved.
The practical effect is that nobody has to trust a platform with their money, nobody fills in payment details to join a pool their coworker started, and nobody is left explaining to a group of adults where the money went. The scoring, the deadlines and the standings are the parts a website is genuinely good at, and those are the parts this one does.
Real sportsbook spreads, totals and prices still land on every slate automatically, because they make the picks more interesting and let a season be graded honestly. They are shown, never staked.

Every format below has its own page with the scoring, the tiebreakers and a worked example. The one worth pointing at first: NFL and College Football can share a single pool — the full slate from both, or only the games you hand-pick out of them. A Saturday-and-Sunday pool is a normal setup here.

Straight about the trade-offs
Three things, and you should know all three before you spend a minute on setup. There is no payout handling — if your group plays for something real, you settle it yourselves, and no software here helps you do that. There is no import tool, so rosters and past seasons do not travel; everything from this season forward is kept, and nothing before it. Pooldit is younger than the platforms this page names, and a shorter track record is a fair thing to weigh.
What you get instead: nobody pays to play, the football tier is free to run, and there is no pot for anyone to argue about.

There is no migration tool, and we will not pretend otherwise on the page where you are deciding: rosters, past standings and prior seasons stay where they are. What comes with you is the group — you create the pool, pick the format and leagues, and send one invite link to the group text you already use.
